West Indies beat Australia in Final T-20I Match of the Series and finished the tour with a positive note. Being clean swept in ODI’s West Indies managed not to get clean swept in T-20I series.

Andre Russell’s thunderous knock (71 of 29) and  match-defining 139-run stand with Sherfane Rutherford (67* off 40) alongside Roston Chase’s all-round brilliance (37 off 20 and 2-19) gave West Indies a 37-run win over Australia in the final T20I in Perth on Tuesday (February 13).

After opting to bat Despite loosing three wickets (J Charles, Pooran & K Mayers and in first 3 overs Rostan chase (37 of 20) and Rovman Powell (21 of 14)  played a short but fine inning.

At a time west Indies was at 79-5 in 7.5 overs and with the help of duo of Russell and Rutherford Caribbean managed to reach 220-6 in 20 overs. Andre Russell and Sherfane Rutherford showcased a stunning display of batting prowess as they formed the largest sixth-wicket partnership in a Twenty20 international.

In response to the formidable total of 220-6 Australia could not managed the pressure and scored 183-5 in 20 overs, only David Warner managed to make a half century and scored 81 of just 49 balls in his final appearance for Australia at home. Warner played a tremendous inning and achieved the milestone of 3000 runs in T-20Is.

Despite a strong start Australia being 98-1 could not defend the target. West Indies outplayed the Australia.

Glenn Maxwell’s heroics in the previous match with an unbeaten 120, the required run rate proved too challenging. With 96 runs needed off the final five overs, even Maxwell’s efforts were insufficient, and he fell for 12.  The chase ultimately fizzled out, and Tim David’s quick 41 couldn’t rescue Australia as they fell short, giving the West Indies a 37-run victory.
